Fernanda Gomes (b. 1960, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) lives and works in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Gomes has recently participated in the 13th Istanbul Biennial (2013), the 30th São Paulo Biennial curated by Luis Perez-Oramas (2012) and the Rennes Biennial (2012). Recent solo exhibitions include Galeria Luisa Strina, São Paulo (2014); Alison Jacques Gallery, London (2013); Centre International de l'art et du Paysage, Vassivière (2013); City Museum, Lisbon (2012) and MAM, Rio de Janeiro (2011). Previous museum shows include Museum of Contemporary Art Serralves, Porto (2006) and The Chisenhale Gallery (1997). Gomes' work has been acquired by many museums including the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago; Miami Art Museum, Miami; Vancouver Art Gallery, Canada; Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; MAM, Rio de Janeiro; and Tate, London.
