Group show: Dorothea Tanning in 'The Tears of Eros: Moesman, Surrealism, and the Sexes', Centraal Museum, Utrecht

15 February - 16 August 2020

Dorothea Tanning features in The Tears of Eros: Moesman, Surrealism, and the Sexes on view at the Centraal Museum, Utrecht, from 15 February to 16 August 2020. Focusing on the legacy of the Dutch Surrealist Johannes Moesman (1909-1988), whose art explored sexual fantasy and transgression, this group exhibition will explore Moesman's work within the context of artists from his own time up until the present day. Two sculptures by Tanning are included in the presentation: Pelote d'épingles pouvant servir de fétiche (Pincushion to Serve as Fetish) (1965) and Nue couchée (Reclining Nude) (1969-70).

Please check the Centraal Museum website for information regarding the temporary closure of exhibitions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
