Opening this weekend at The Baltimore Museum of Art, Ana Mendieta: Blood Inside Outside. Recently acquired by the BMA, Mendieta’s 1975 film, Blood Inside Outside, documents the artist exploring multiple layers of meaning ascribed to blood - from death to rebirth. This presentation of the film is accompanied by rare, lifetime photographs from Mendieta's Body Tracks series, as well as her drawings of abstracted outlines of paleolithic goddesses, which were repeatedly inscribed on a variety of surfaces.
