Takuro Kuwata has collaborated with Loewe on its autumn/winter 2020 collection. Kuwata has created a variety of ceramic pendants, bag charms, and studded plates that have been fixed into tops and the bodices of dresses. Jonathan Anderson, creative director of the Spanish luxury house, has been inspired by Kuwata for some time. "I collect Takuro’s work and he’s influenced an entire generation of ceramicists at a very young age. From afar, the pieces [we’ve collaborated on] look as though they could be leather, but they’re porcelain.”
Kuwata was a finalist in the 2018 Loewe Craft Prize, the international annual prize that showcases and celebrates excellence and artistic merit in modern craftsmanship.
