To coincide with the opening of the major exhibition Lygia Clark: Painting as an Experimental Field, 1948-1958, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao will host a round table on the work of Lygia Clark. The panel will feature major experts in the field of modern and contemporary Latin American art, including Geaninne Gutiérrez-Guimarães, Associate Curator at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and curator of the exhibition; Adele Nelson, Assistant Professor of Art History and Associate Director of the Center of Visual Latin American Studies at the University of Texas in Austin; and Paulo Miyada, Curator of the Tomie Ohtake Institute and Adjunct Curator of the 34th São Paulo Biennial.
The participants will discuss the early stages in Clark’s artistic career, from 1948 and 1958, and explore significant topics in the exhibition.
